Top issues during term (5)(General)
Single-use plastic bag ban ordinance
Plastic bag contamination of recycling costs the county roughly $30,000 a year, and waste is hauled 120 miles to Valencia Landfill at significant expense.
Landfill feasibility study
Unknown — the feasibility study was to be presented at the meeting, so cost-sharing figures were not yet public.
WWII Heritage City designation
It could mean more visitor spending at museums, hotels, and restaurants, but the designation doesn’t come with guaranteed funding.
Inclusivity Board Formation
A cost estimate for the ongoing board is still to come.
county leadership appointment
There’s no dollar figure in the announcement, but this hire affects how county departments spend and deliver services.
